Tears come to my eyes as i sit here in the blank,
knowing only the pain that lies in my heart,
and feeling the empty that was once you.
somewhere somehow i know we will meet again,

be it in the rain, in the sun, or some simple scene,
we once knew only the eyes of the other,
and in that instant we were happy knowing each other,
and all we knew of life was that simple silly smile,

somewhere in my heart my love for you still dwells,
it lives in the shadows and leaves me for hurt and tired,
and i try to train, to leave it in the dust, but the harder i try,
the more i see you, the more that i am me, the more i know you.

it makes no sense, it never has,
when you are hurt, i feel the same,
when you are down, i know your pain,
and somehow, i know the person that lies within,

when you read these words,
you simply don’t see whats on the page,
only you have known the key to my thoughts,
the way into my life, the feelings of my soul.

only you know the path i must take,
and without you i am lost,
without you i feel like life has no meaning,
but why is it that everyday we play these games.

i wish you could see, could be,
the one who never needed a key,
just the one who simply could walk in,
and steal the life that was once its own.
