The Roller Coaster
2002-03-01

Depression is a maroon roller coaster,
the pain you feel of the seat straps,
digging into you,
on the steepest of hills.

The headaches you get on the rough,
jerky, bouncing ride.

The feeling of extreme fatigue after trying,
pressing- yourself into place.

The fear of falling out on the loop ahead,
falling to your death on the tracks below.

The smell and taste of blood,
the feeling of serve pain,
after being slammed on the sharp turn
that you just left behind.

The crying after finishing the ride,
remembering the pain and fear you felt during it.

The hatred you feel against that roller coaster,
and all who said you would enjoy ridding it.
