The Quiet
2006-09-23
In the silence I sit,
unknowing of fate,
with a faint smile on my lips,
thinking nothing but bliss.
I have never felt closer,
nor as far away,
as I do right now,
in this long moment,
for time has stopped,
time no longer matters,
time simply is this moment,
this place, this thought, this
and time must pass,
time must move on,
life must move on,
before I can sing your name.
The quiet surrounds me,
and the silence invades,
but still I am peaceful,
knowing that someday,
someday this will end,
someday, all will begin,
someplace, sometime, somewhere,
life will renew once again,
and your joy, and my joy,
the dark and the light,
the silent and the deafening,
will become that smile.
A simple silly smile,
a laughing smile,
a thoughtful smile,
a knowing smile.
