Sacrifice
2002-10-01
So this is it,
the price of idealism,
the pain, the loneliness,
the sacrifice of body and soul.
Pray I that they might see,
the way - one day they will.
I'm worn, everyday.
It will pay off - I know.
May I never love again,*
so that my energy,
all of it,
can go into serving the world.
I,
promise that I will uphold all,
everything that is good.
I will train, I will suffer.
But hopefully it won't be in vain.
Hopefully they will see the light,
goodness, kindness, love for all,
peace throughout the earth.
Evil brings quick joy,
but love lasts forever,
that is why I hurt,
my love must carry on,
through all,
I can't let it go.
*When I say this line, I really
mean that may I never have a crush,
or false love again. It may even be omitted
for the final edition.
