Letter to the Earth
2007-09-20

Dear great being, and so simple one;

As the wind blows through my soul,
and the cold shivers my senses,
I find in the world a peace of mind,
that makes it hard to find pain.

but then I awaken, learn the truth,
the pain of the darkness that surrounds me,
and the loneliness in my heart;
the cold that you placed there when you,

my beloved one, left me to rot.
your eyes betray you,
and your mind entices me,
but forever you seem gone,

and so I must learn to live without,
without the joy that I know we could,
without the peace that would live in
this very broken soul that you could mend.

And so as I sit and think and meditate,
I become aware that the only way to
learn the depths of myself is by,
leaving the reality that is built by others,

and living in the imagination that is my mind;
for you see, the wind that I feel is not
the same as you, this wind is the essence of life,
the essence of love that flows through all,

and when you learn to love the earth,
as I once knew, before they called me crazy,
then there is instant peace in your heart,
and an eternal strength that you come to know.

But thus I speak not of God the father,
or of Jesus the son.
the one that I speak of is the beauty of the trees,
the clouds that dance around us,

the energy that permeates all of life,
that connects us all, even you and me my dear;
and when I have once again found this,
that once was called crazy,

what I once knew to be my life,
and hid from others so that they would stop;
and then when I found you,
something in me stirred,

it caused to to revert to the past,
to feel these great hidden movements of life,
and when I finally caught up,
it seems now to be too late.

I have found the peace that I once knew so long ago.
this peace and beauty and wind that moves my soul,
I have found the nature within us all, and I see that,
although you might not see, my thoughts of you have,
become whole.

Sincerely you my life, and all life,
Great Soul that makes me know I am more than just what others say,
