Hey look! You can now listen to the poem and read it at the same time!

I dunno anymore
2007-12-05

the mind diverges into the past,
and is filled with the pain of emptiness.
there is no liquor, nor beer, nor drugs to be found,
that would ease the restless mind.

the world is filled with beauty,
for all the mind sees is metaphor,
it has become simply unconscious,
the idea of thought is gone, only feeling now.

her eyes pierce my own,
though i have not seen her for years,
her eyes piece me to the soul,
and what she saw in me is no longer there.

i wish there was a simple answer to the question,
but there is not, and may never be.
i have heard that individuals are born
to be great leaders, but nay,

i think that greatness is breed in the pain,
the sorrow, the loneliness of the heart.
it seems to me that the greatest leader of all,
is going to be the one that has suffered the most.

for he has seen the pain, the past,
and now he knows that change must come,
and he knows that for those eyes of the people to shine,
that he must lead them down the path that has not been traveled.

that rambles of the unconscious,
fill up this page,
but the truth of the words,
will certainly remain,

long after this boy is gone,
long after he becomes the man,
that they once saw in his soul,
that they knew he could become.

he will fill the dreams of the world,
and lead thought to greatness;
but alas he shall perish in great fire,
for the word has been written so.
