Hamsters and Ode to Cupcake

Big and Brown,
like a cupcake,
that is a good name for one.

It climbs up and down its tubes,
and all around its cage.
You put it in its ball,
and it will chase the cats away.

Squeak, Squeak, it goes when it's held,
or wants to go back home,
it is soft and sleeps during the day,
and will keep you awake at night,
(with its ball that is.)

The Ode (12-20-2002)

Cupcake, Oh Cupcake,
why, Oh why so soon.
We do all miss you so,
and I hope you are happy.
Wherever you are.
